Redmi 14C 5G is official with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and 6.88″ 120Hz display
According to Canalys data, Redmi 13C was India’s best-selling 5G smartphone in H1 2024.
Now it’s the Redmi 14C 5G’s turn to pick up the heavy legacy and it tries with a more efficient Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip and a larger 120Hz display.
Redmi 14C 5G Features
The Redmi 14C 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, the first in the series to be manufactured using 4nm technology. This chipset is equipped with 2 Cortex-A78 cores at 2.2 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores at 1.95 GHz and also includes an Adreno 613 GPU and an X61 modem with dual 5G support and download speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps.
The device can support a maximum of 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which can be expanded to 1 TB with a microSD card via a dedicated slot. This allows you to use two SIMs.
The new Redmi smartphone’s display is a 6.88″ IPS LCD panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, better than the 6.74″ and 90 Hz of its predecessor; however, the resolution is HD+.
The photographic department has not received major updates and still features a 50 MP main sensor and a second camera on the back, while the front camera goes from 5 to 8 MP however, video recording is limited to 1080p at 30 FPS for both.
Redmi 14C 5G retains the 3.5mm headphone jack, and its single speaker is 50% louder than the previous model. The Redmi device is powered by a slightly larger 5,160mAh battery, however charging is still at 18W, but at least a 33W charger is included in the box for use with other USB-C gadgets. The body of the smartphone is IP52-rated for basic splash resistance.
On the software front, the device comes with Android 14-based HyperOS and will receive 2 years of updates and security patches for 4 years.
There are three colors available: Starlight Blue, which weighs 205 grams, Stardust Purple, and Stargaze Black, which weighs 212 grams due to the glass-back design.
Redmi 14C 5G Availability and Pricing
The Redmi 14C 5G will go on sale via Amazon, Flipkart, Mi.com, and Xiaomi retail stores from January 10, starting at ₹9,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model. The 4GB+128GB model costs ₹10,999, while the 6GB+128GB model costs ₹11,999.
