iPhone 17 Air Battery Capacity – The latest rumors from the iPhone 17 series line have again stolen the public’s attention, coming from the iPhone 17 Air variant. As the name suggests, this device is said to carry the thinnest design in iPhone history, with a thickness of only 5.5 mm.

However, the ultra-thin design seems to come at the cost of a compromise in the power sector. Based on the latest leaks from Apple’s supply chain, the iPhone 17 Air’s battery capacity is predicted to be only 2,800mAh—a relatively small number by 2025 smartphone standards.
For comparison, the first-generation Galaxy Z Flip already uses a 3,300mAh battery, and the equally thin Galaxy S25 Edge can accommodate a 3,900mAh battery.
Apple’s Solution: High-Density Batteries
Despite its small capacity, Apple is rumored to rely on high-density battery technology to increase power usage efficiency by up to 15–20 percent. This is expected to offset capacity limitations somewhat and provide an optimal user experience.

The iPhone 17 Air will also weigh only around 145 grams, which is very light for a flagship-class device.
