Huawei has launched its new smartphone, the Huawei Mate 70 Air, in the Chinese market. Powered by a Kirin processor, the phone features up to 16GB of RAM. The Huawei Mate 70 Air features a 7.0-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1320×2760 pixels, a touch sampling rate of up to 300Hz, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and 1.07 billion colors.

The phone comes with 16GB of RAM and is powered by the Kirin 9020A chipset, while the Kirin 9020B powers the 12GB RAM model. Both options offer up to 512GB of internal storage. The Mate 70 Air runs on the company’s HarmonyOS 5.1 operating system.

The phone is powered by a 6,500mAh battery with support for 66W wired fast charging. The phone is also rated IP68+IP69 for dust and water resistance.

For optics, the phone features a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 12-megapixel secondary camera with an f/2.4 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 1.5-megapixel multi-spectral color camera. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 10.7-megapixel front camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

It measures 165×81.5×6.6mm and weighs 208 grams. Connectivity options include 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and GPS. For security, the phone features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Huawei Mate 70 Air is priced at CNY 4,199 (~$590) for the 12GB/256GB storage variant, CNY 4,699 (~$660) for the 12GB/512GB storage variant, CNY 4,699 (~$660) for the 16GB+256GB variant, and CNY 5,199 (~$730) for the 16GB/512GB storage variant.

The smartphone is currently available for pre-order on the company’s online store in China. It is available in Obsidian Black, Feathered White, and Gold & Silver Brocade colours.
